I. Unbind Your Book
Some like to do this sooner, some later, (some never). For several reasons:
*pages may be easier to work on individually.
*you may want to begin the monthly pages with the month your baby was born.
*you may also want to discard, convert or add pages.
*the pins provided make a convenient temporary binding for completed pages.

II. Watch Your Margins
*a 1" ruler is included so you will not have the sad
experience of disappearing text or images when you bind your book

III. Final Binding
Much like tying a shoe lace:
*to "needle" ribbon, twist ends into a short strip of tape (you can cut them off when done)
*thread through first hole
*with one end, thread through first hole again. This will leave one wrap around the spine of the book.
*now criss-cross down to the next hole, so each end goes through one side and out the other
*with longer end, wrap spine once by threading through opposite side
*criss-cross down to the next hole and wrap once
*criss-cross a third time and wrap once
*tie 2 knots, one on top of the other
Here you can finish with:
*a bow or
*tie a knot approximately 1" from the 2 knots on each end. Fix edge with thinned glue. Tuck knots under nearest criss-cross on the side or in the back
*thread bead(s) onto each end. Knot to secure. Trim & fix ends

Some tips while binding: keep strands pulled tight while you work...if the opening is narrow, use tweezers to grasp end from opposite side of hole and pull through
