Line Mural

This was the first project for an Art 1 class, grades 9-12. Students used a basic element of design (line) to create a complex, dynamic piece.

Students were given 6" x 18" segments, divided into (6) 6" x 3" panels. They had to draw 3 interweaving lines across 5 panels, using a different media in each panel.

Each student then connected their individual segment to another student's segment, drawing lines to connect the two in the 6th panel.

Focus was on transition between each 6" x 3" panel and each 6" x 18" segment.

Charcoal, ballpoint pen, marker, pen & ink, and color pencil on paper. 6" x 594" (or 15 yds.)
