Portraits of Inspiration |
These were made by Art 1 students, grades 9-12. They used the grid method to do an enlarged drawing of a printed image.
This technique allows beginning and advanced artists alike to break down a complex image into a series of smaller, simplified sections which are much easier to replicate and enlarge by hand, one section at a time.
They were to choose a source image of someone or thing that inspired them, the enlargement and optional 'halo' symbolic of the subject's importance in the student's life.
